Who we are
thepionairs.com is published by Zaizuma Entertainment, which is responsible for your personal data as described in this statement. The website is hosted by TransIP in the Netherlands; as our hosting provider, TransIP processes data only on our behalf and under a data processing agreement.
What we collect
If you join as a member, we store your email address to send you The Monthly Brief, our monthly newsletter. Subscription uses double opt-in: you only receive the newsletter after confirming your email address. If you contact us through a form on this site, we receive the information you submit (such as your name, email address and message) and use it solely to handle your request.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, based on aggregated statistics, with IP addresses anonymized. Analytics only runs after you agree to it in our cookie banner: if you decline, or before you make a choice, no analytics cookies are placed and no analytics data is collected. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your data for advertising.
Cookies
This site uses two kinds of cookies. Functional cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice; these are always active. Analytics cookies, set by Google Analytics, are only placed after you press Accept in the cookie banner. If you press Decline, no analytics cookies are placed. You can change your choice at any time through the Cookies link at the bottom of every page.
Third parties we work with
To run this site we rely on a small number of external services that may process personal data on our behalf or as independent controllers:
- Automattic (Jetpack): powers our newsletter. When you sign up, your email address is processed by Jetpack to send the double opt-in confirmation, deliver The Monthly Brief and handle unsubscribes. Jetpack may also collect aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics.
- Google (Google Analytics): provides the visitor statistics described above. It runs only after you accept analytics cookies, with IP addresses anonymized. Google may process this data outside the European Union.
- TransIP: hosts the website in the Netherlands and processes data only on our behalf under a data processing agreement.
Retention
Newsletter data is kept for as long as you are subscribed; you can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email. Form submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. Residents of the European Economic Area have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
