Connected assistants can create workflow runs, assign tasks, search datasets, generate reports and analyse operational information. Process Street gives examples including initiating quarterly access reviews, identifying bottlenecks in client onboarding and finding vendors whose reviews are overdue.
Importantly, access follows existing Process Street permissions rather than creating a separate agent permission model. The company says data is not moved out of its platform simply to make MCP access possible. Organisations using SAML SSO are not currently supported.
3,000 companies provide an installed base for agent-accessible workflows
Process Street says more than 3,000 companies use its compliance operations platform across finance, healthcare, technology and government. The MCP launch therefore connects agents to an existing body of structured procedures rather than introducing an empty integration standard.
What remains unproven is how extensively customers will allow agents to execute compliance actions rather than merely retrieve information.
ThePionairs.com sees a wider opportunity for smaller SaaS vendors whose applications hold valuable operational context. CRM records, inspection histories, property information, maintenance schedules and compliance evidence become substantially more useful when authorised agents can retrieve and act on them.
Founders do not necessarily need to build another agent. They can make their vertical system agent-readable through MCP while retaining permissions, auditability and business rules. That can protect the SaaS product’s position as the system of record even when users increasingly interact through external AI assistants.
Choose the workflow customers most frequently leave your product to complete manually and expose only the minimum actions required through MCP. Start with retrieval and a reversible action, for example finding overdue inspections and preparing follow-up tasks, rather than granting broad write access. That tests whether agent access improves the existing product before the company invests in building its own conversational interface.
Give five customers access for 30 days and monitor completed agent-initiated workflows per active user. Stop if permission management, inaccurate tool selection or support requirements outweigh the time saved. A second-order opportunity is charging for governed agent access, audit logs or higher execution limits as a new platform tier.
