Private AI Appliances Create a New Service Model for Sensitive SME Workflows

Japanese startup Athena Technologies launched Athena Works on August 20, packaging private AI agents with leased NVIDIA DGX Spark hardware from ¥300,000 per month. The SME opportunity sits around the appliance: IT providers can increasingly sell private AI as a managed business service to customers whose confidential documents have kept them away from public AI platforms.
