The system is intended to replace a collection of disconnected tools with a common operating layer in which AI agents can perform actions subject to permissions, approvals, audit trails and rollback controls. Hikino says the product also integrates with distributor systems and maintains information across the relationship between vendors, distributors, resellers and end customers.
The central development is therefore not simply another AI-enabled CRM launch. A specialised software company is attempting to encode the commercial mechanics of a particular distribution industry directly into an agentic system.
One reseller provides early production validation
RAV is already running at Clutch Solutions, an IT solutions provider serving enterprise and mid-market customers. Hikino identifies Clutch as its design customer and says the company has operated the platform in production since July 2026. Clutch CEO Garrette Backie said the business exceeded its previous year’s revenue during the first half of its 2026 financial year, although the announcement does not establish how much of that growth was caused by RAV.
That distinction matters. The launch demonstrates that the workflow can be deployed in a functioning reseller organisation. It does not yet prove that replacing existing systems produces superior economics across the wider VAR market.
The opportunity: agentic software for fragmented multi-party industries
ThePionairs.com sees the larger opportunity in sectors where revenue depends on several organisations coordinating transactions but where the underlying workflow still moves between portals, spreadsheets, inboxes and legacy software.
Insurance distribution, industrial supply, medical equipment, specialist manufacturing and wholesale trade can exhibit similar characteristics. Hikino itself points to several of these industries as possible extensions of the operating model, although those markets have not yet been validated by the product.
Smaller SaaS founders may have an advantage because winning this category depends heavily on understanding obscure operational rules rather than building the most capable general-purpose AI model. The valuable asset can be the workflow schema, integrations and industry-specific permissions around which agents operate.
Analysis: map one ugly revenue workflow
Start by selecting a narrow industry where your team already has customer access and map one revenue process that repeatedly crosses organisational boundaries. Do not begin by building a general agent platform. Document the approvals, exceptions, documents, portals and manual reconciliations involved in something commercially important such as renewals, commissions or special pricing. The highest-value first move is finding a workflow whose operational complexity creates measurable lost revenue or labour cost.
Within 30 days, manually prototype that workflow with two or three companies using existing automation and AI components before developing dedicated infrastructure. Measure hours removed per transaction or previously missed revenue recovered. Stop if customers cannot quantify the problem or will not grant access to the required systems. A second-order opportunity is turning the resulting workflow model into infrastructure that other software vendors can integrate with. ThePionairs Opportunity Verdict: Test because vertical agentic software becomes defensible when it captures industry-specific transaction logic that horizontal SaaS does not.
