The thesis

Traditional enterprise software charges per human user. 8090 builds agents that do the work directly, pricing against the outcome rather than the seat. If it works at scale, the per-seat model that underpins most SaaS pricing comes under pressure.

The counterargument

Enterprises have heard the replace-your-software pitch before. Agents still fail on edge cases, integrations and accountability, which is why most successful deployments today look like augmentation with a human sign-off, not replacement. The 95 percent pilot-failure statistic haunts this category more than any other.

What it means for founders

Whether or not agents replace seats, buyers are starting to ask outcome-based pricing questions in procurement. SaaS founders should stress-test their pricing against an agent-shaped competitor: what would a rival charge if it charged per completed task? Having that answer before a prospect asks is cheap insurance.
