ARM Cloud Infrastructure Opens a Cost Test for Production AI Workloads
US Signal added Ampere-powered ARM compute to its OpenCloud platform on August 20, targeting AI inference, small language models and retrieval-augmented generation rather than expensive model training. For smaller AI software companies, the opportunity is operational: benchmark production workloads that do not genuinely require GPUs and determine whether alternative compute can improve gross margins without changing the customer product.
